Homemade Vanilla Ice-cream & Jamco banana spread

Cooking time: 30 min.

Ingredients for 6 people:

Vanilla ice-cream ingredients

  • 400 ml of milk
  • 300ml ml of liquid cream
  • 200g of sugar
  • 5 egg yolks
  • 1 vanilla pod

Preparation of ingredients:

Split the vanilla pod in two

In a saucepan, pour the milk and liquid cream with the vanilla bean.

Bring to boil then remove from the heat and let infuse for 15 minutes.


In a bowl, add egg yolks and sugar

Work with a whisk until the mixture whitens

Slowly pour the milk to the mixture, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon

Pour the liquid into the pan and turn to cook on low heat, stirring constantly.

The cream should never boil

When the cream thickens and coats the spatula, remove from heat and pour the cream into a cold vessel by filtering it through a chinoise.

Let cool, stirring from time to time and place in a freezer.

Remove the preparation of the freezer after ½ hour and blend with a hand blender for a few moments. Repeat this operation at least 4 to 5 times.

After 2 hours when the ice begins to set, wait a few more hours for the ice to solidify a bit

In a bowl, place the vanilla ice-cream cover it with 2 spoons of Jamco banana spread.
